Who We are & What We Do

Cover cropping has been proven to provide significant benefits to agricultural production systems. But the short frost-free periods and often dry conditions on the Canadian Prairies make the implementation of conventional cover cropping strategies extremely challenging. We aim to develop cover cropping strategies that can work on the Canadian Prairies.

Agronomic Research

Our agronomic research approach employs trial at the small-plot and field scale with input from grain and livestock farmers.

Knowledge

Our scientific findings will be translatable into agronomic practice recommendations.

Modelling

Cover cropping practices will be modeled to better understand benefit and cost tradeoffs.
