  • Are your pet’s ID tags and microchip information up to date?
  • Make sure your pet’s collar and tags are on.
  • Make arrangements for a sitter to look after your pet if you are going away. Get them a babysitter tag with their phone number on it.
  • Ask your guest to be careful at the doors.
  • If your pet is a door dasher, put them in a room while your guests are coming and going.
  • Supervise interactions between your pet and your guest’s children for everyone’s safety.
  • Ask your guest to not feed your pet no matter how cute your pet can be.
  • If you have a counter-surfer, as a guest or family member to keep your pet occupied in another room while you are cooking.
  • Remove all trash and bones immediately after the meal. You don’t want your pet to get hurt from chewing on a bone.
  • Don’t leave your pet outside unattended.
